Mr. Mutua is the Managing Partner of the firm and has extensive experience in private and public sector accounting, auditing, financial management, and administration spanning over twenty-three (23) years. Mr. Mutua has recently led the delivery of a compliance audit for the Unclaimed Financial Assets Authority for Gulf African Bank Limited, Pioneer Insurance Company Limited, Unga Group Plc, Carbacid Investments Plc, USIU Africa, Crown Paints Kenya PLC, and Sameer Africa PLC.
Other assignments that he has been involved in recent years include: Financial Auditor for the AfDB funded multi-national Athi River-Namanga-Arusha road project, the review of the internal control systems of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) for two consecutive years, the internal audit of Kevian Kenya Limited (the processors of Pick N’ Peel and Afia juices), the special audit of Muhoroni Sugar Company Limited (In Receivership) and Miwani Sugar Company Limited (In Receivership), the forensic audit of Nyando and Kyansizi Irrigation Projects, the institutional review of WEAP, the institutional review and business valuation of Corporate Insurance Company (CIC), the World Bank-funded projects including Financial Auditor for the financial and technical audit of Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company Limited (NCWSC) for the period 2005/06 and 2006/07; Financial Consultant for the comprehensive review of the entire operations and activities of the Mombasa Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC). Financial Auditor for the AFD funded Performance Audit of Kisumu Water and Sewerage Company Limited, Financial Auditor for the Kenya Roads Board funded Technical, Compliance, Performance and Financial Audit Consultancy Services for Package 7: Western Region for years 2006/07 to 2008/09 and Package 3: Central and Eastern Regions for the years 2003/04 to 2005/06 and Technical, Compliance;
Mr. Mutua has many years of experience in key audit and financial positions in the private sector and has been able to review and implement internal control and accounting systems hands-on. As a senior consultant with other audit firms, he has been involved in the audits and review of several medium and large organisations financial institutions such as the Kenya Institute of Management (KIM), Sterling Capital Limited, Nyeri Water and Sewerage Company (NYEWASCO), Meru Water and Sanitation Services (MEWASS), Kenya Tea Development Agency (KTDA), Kenya Tea Packers Limited (KETEPA) and Gateway Insurance Company Limited, among others.
Mr. Mutua is a fully qualified accountant, CPA (K), 2000, and a Member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK). He is also a Certified Fraud Examiner and a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiner (ACFE). He holds a BCom-Accounting from KCA University and an EMBA from the Management University of Africa.
